Appendix A: Additional Information for Failed Results on the Test Configuration Screen
Tables may not all have the same prefix. The correct prefix (or database) depends on where the table is stored. Here are some scenarios:
Single Database: If all JDE tables are stored in one database, the prefix will be the same for all items.
Multiple Databases: If JDE tables are stored in multiple databases (e.g., separate databases for data, security, control, and data dictionary tables), each database will have a unique prefix.
Object Library and Budgeting/Planning: There may be unique prefixes for the object library table and budgeting/planning tables, which will be the name of the budget database.
Since prefixes are client-specific, it is not possible to provide exact prefixes. However, understanding the categories of tables can help determine the correct prefix. If there is difficulty getting the prefix right (i.e., achieving a "Success" result on the Test Configuration screen), follow these steps:
-
Navigate to JDE Connectivity Screen:
Click Back until you reach the JDE Connectivity (Main Security, UDC, and Data Dictionary Connections) screen.
Note the different connections for data, security, Data Dictionary, and UDC.
-
Security Connection:
Maps security tables (e.g., F0092, F00950, F00926, F0093, F95921, F95922, F98OWSEC).
These tables share the same prefix, which is unique if the Security Connection is unique.
-
For JDE World software, the security tables are F0001, F0092, and F0093. The prefix typically includes "SY" or "SYS".
-
Data Dictionary Connection:
Maps the data dictionary table F9203.
This connection is unique if the Data Dictionary Connection is unique.
-
For JDE World software, the tables are F9203 and F9801. The prefix typically includes "DD".
-
UDC Connection:
Maps control tables (e.g., F0004, F0005, F0004D, F0005D if localized captions are checked).
These tables share the same prefix, which is unique if the UDC Connection is unique.
-
For JDE World software, the tables are the same. The prefix typically includes "CTL".
-
Object Library Location:
Defined on the Select Additional Tables to Configure screen.
-
The prefix for the object library table defaults in and should not be changed. If incorrect, modify it on the following screen.
-
Data Connection:
Maps data tables not associated with security, data dictionary, UDC, or OL tables.
-
The prefix typically includes "DATA" or "DTA".
-
Budgeting/Planning: The prefix will be the name of the budget database created by the DBA, as outlined in Connections.
